Richard Folly

Richard Folly is a space entrepreneur with interest in global challenges, and a geospatial analyst with over 10 years of experience in technology, entrepreneurship, and education projects across Africa, USA, Europe, and Asia. Richard is the founder and CEO of African Geospace, an aerospace company with the mission to democratize access to high-resolution satellite imagery.


Richard has a degree in geography from Université de Lomé, Togo, and a certificate in public administration from Arizona State University, USA. He is a former NASA intern, where he focused on disaster risk management and environmental monitoring. Richard is also a STEM Educator with focus on Earth Science and Planetary Science, and open-source geospatial tools. He has trained and spoken to hundreds of students and teachers during education outreach campaigns, and has connected classrooms to live NASA missions.


Richard is a Mandela Washington Fellow, an Alibaba eFounders Fellow, and a member of global leadership and professional organizations, including the International Leadership Association, and The Mars

Komlan Richard Folly is a public speaker with interest in global challenges, and a geospatial analyst with over 10 years of experience in technology, entrepreneurship, and education projects across Africa, the USA, Europe, and Asia. Richard is the founder and CEO of African Geospace, an aerospace company that leverages space technology and data to help save lives, improve livelihoods, and enhance climate resilience.

Richard has a degree in geography from Université de Lomé, Togo, and a certificate in public administration from Arizona State University, USA. He is a former NASA intern — sponsored by the US Department of State — where he focused on disaster risk management and environmental monitoring. Richard is also a STEM Educator with focus on Earth Science and Planetary Science, and open-source geospatial tools. He has trained and spoken to hundreds of students and teachers during education outreach campaigns.

Richard is a Mandela Washington Fellow, an Alibaba eFounders Fellow, and a member of several global leadership and professional organizations, including The Mars Society. He is passionate about Space and its benefits for Humanity. Richard speaks at global conferences and events on topics related to Space, technology, entrepreneurship, and climate change. He is on a mission to inspire individuals and organizations by sharing his experiences and motivations that drive him forward.
