Dr. Joseph Bremang Tandoh is a seasoned researcher with over 15 years of experience, currently serving as the Director of the Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute (GSSTI). His career is dedicated to integrating space science into national policy, emphasizing the transformative potential of space technology in driving economic growth, environmental sustainability, and technological innovation.

Contributions to Satellites and Space Architecture Futurism:
Dr. Tandoh has been instrumental in advancing Ghana's capabilities in satellite technology and space science, aligning with the principles of space architecture futurism. His notable contributions include:

  • Development of Ghana's National Space Policy: Under Dr. Tandoh's leadership, Ghana launched its first comprehensive space policy aimed at leveraging space technology for national development. This policy facilitates the establishment of the Ghana Space Agency, which oversees human capital development, infrastructure, and the sector's growth.

  • Promotion of Sustainable Practices: Dr. Tandoh emphasizes the role of space technology in managing resources, tracking agricultural health, and mitigating climate change. By advocating for the use of satellite data, he supports precision agriculture and environmental monitoring, contributing to sustainable development.

Dr. Tandoh is a physicist and Principal Research Scientist at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, serving as the Director of the Ghana Space Science and Technology Institute (GSSTI). He holds a bachelor's in Physics, a master's in Applied Nuclear Physics, and a Ph.D. in Physics Methods in Environmental Science.

Previously, Dr. Tandoh served as Deputy Director of GSSTI and Head of the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications at the University of Ghana. As Ghana’s Principal for the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), he leads national efforts in Earth observation for development.

With a strong background in academia and leadership, Dr. Tandoh is committed to integrating space science and technology into Ghana’s development agenda, promoting innovation and sustainability.
