Biography
SNAP SHOT: TIME STAMP 2023
Lisa TheLandstronaut Alcindor PhD- Astronaut Candidate, is passionate about creating space suits for women to protect their womb space from ionic and cosmic radiation.
Lisa TheLandstronaut's passion was sparked from becoming an #astronaut candidate and realizing that there may be no suits available that significantly protect the womb from ionic and cosmic radiation, which may lead to birthing or reproductive issues. Moreover, prior extravehicular #EVA #spacesuits were originally designed for a 6'1" man.
Lisa TheLandstronaut literally left her job working on an #AirForce SBIRS satellite program to help design body armor for the military so she could understand #advancematerial #textiles and performance. That way, she could build the next space suit. She realized that female #bodyarmor in the military had some similar concerns... from "Land to Space.™"
Lisa TheLandstronaut see's her passion taking her to #Space, while creating a space in Space for daughters that will grow into women that can eventually perform air and space flight with her perseverance in designing the next #aviation and space suit.

Most aspiring astronauts have dreamed of orbiting the Earth since childhood. Lisa Alcindor? Not so much. "I got interested in space by accident," she says. After graduating with a degree in economics, she applied on a lark for a role at the U.S. Defense Contract Management Agency and began working in aeronautics. The space bug may have bitten late, but it made a lasting impact.

"Finally, Lisa TheLandstronaut . . .
Here for the now and the future by making a space in Space."

Pulling information from NASA resources, she designed her own training program, learning how to fly a small plane and to scuba dive (mimicking the underwater training NASA uses to get astronaut candidates accustomed to weightlessness). In 2019, she applied for the inaugural Citizen Astronaut Program, an initiative run by nonprofit Space for Humanity designed to bring more people to space.
